Grand Theft Auto V offered three endings — kill Trevor, kill Michael, or "Deathwish" (all three survive). The presence of this artefact has been read as a soft confirmation that Michael's canon survived and that he continued his producer career — possibly relocating productions to Vice City's film district.
Dexerto (2025) noted Ned Luke (Michael's voice actor) engaging publicly with GTA VI marketing and refusing to deny rumours of involvement. While not evidence of a cameo per se, the studio's known NDA strictness means even ambiguous engagement is treated by fans as meaningful (Dexerto, 2025).

Rockstar's design philosophy has historically resisted full protagonist returns as playable characters, preferring environmental nods. Houser-era writing principles emphasised cohort separation between titles (IGN Wiki, 2025). Direct on-screen cameos may therefore be limited to passing voice lines, in-game internet activity, or background visual references rather than meaningful roles.
The combined visual evidence (boat, Meltdown poster), behavioural signals (voice-actor engagement), and narrative logic (canonical Deathwish ending) make some form of Trevor/Michael/Franklin acknowledgement in GTA VI highly probable. Full playable cameos remain unlikely; tasteful background references and possibly a phone-call mission from Franklin's agency represent the most credible expectations. Confirmation will only arrive at launch (currently slated 2026).
