Few property classes embody the aspirational, hyper-capitalist parody of Grand Theft Auto Online more emphatically than the yacht. Introduced in late 2015 as the centrepiece of the Executives and Other Criminals update, the Galaxy Super Yacht established a tradition of floating ultra-luxury real estate that has lingered in the franchise's identity for over a decade (Fandom, 2026; Wikipedia, 2026). With Grand Theft Auto VI set in the State of Leonida โ a fictionalised Florida built around Vice City, the Keys and Caribbean-adjacent coastline โ yachts are widely anticipated to return not merely as static set-dressing, but as a structurally important property type within the game's online mode and single-player economy (Rockstar Games, 2026).
The Galaxy Super Yacht debuted on 15 December 2015 as part of the Executives and Other Criminals DLC, marketed via the in-game "DockTease" website with the tagline "Bold. Iconic. Visible from space." (Fandom, 2026). Manufactured under the Pegasus brand, it was offered in three trims โ the entry-level Orion, mid-tier Pisces, and flagship Aquarius โ priced from US$6,000,000 to roughly US$10,000,000 in GTA dollars. Each trim scaled in size, embedded vehicles and amenities: the Orion shipped with a Tropic and Seashark; the Pisces added a Swift Deluxe helicopter, Speeder, Dinghy and additional Seasharks; while the Aquarius topped the range with a SuperVolito Carbon helicopter, a Toro, a Dinghy and four Seasharks (Fandom, 2026).
Crucially, the yacht did not function as a controllable vessel. It was a static prop with scripted relocation: players paid the captain, NPC Brendan Darcy, US$25,000 (reduced to US$10,000 after completing the A Superyacht Life mission strand) to anchor it at one of dozens of preset coastline locations (Fandom, 2026; Wikipedia, 2026). It behaved as a floating apartment, with a bartender, sleeping quarters and a homing launcher stash, but conferred no income-generating business mechanic โ a design choice often criticised as the franchise's most expensive vanity purchase (Wikipedia, 2026). The accompanying A Superyacht Life contact missions, narrated by Darcy, expanded the lore around private maritime opulence in Los Santos.
GTA VI's official setting โ Vice City and the wider Leonida coastline โ is a natural habitat for yachts. Rockstar's marketing emphasises "the sunniest place in America," the Keys-inspired archipelago, Port Gellhorn and Ambrosia, with explicit reference to drug-running boatyards and Coast Guard surveillance (Rockstar Games, 2026). Trailer footage has shown high-end pleasure craft moored along Vice City Beach and racing through Leonida's inland waterways, signalling that maritime vehicles are a first-class citizen of the new map.
Several factors make a yacht property class an almost certain return. First, Rockstar has steadily evolved the GTA Online property meta toward business-bearing assets โ nightclubs, agencies, salvage yards, money-laundering fronts (Wikipedia, 2026) โ and a yacht reimagined as a smuggling hub or offshore casino would slot cleanly into that progression. Second, the Cayo Perico Heist (2020) already proved Rockstar's appetite for Caribbean nautical scenarios, and Vice City's geography lends itself to similar set-pieces (Wikipedia, 2026). Third, the brand "DockTease" and the Pegasus manufacturer are persistent fixtures of the HD Universe, and there is no in-fiction reason for them to vanish.
Community speculation, drawing on the 2022 Rockstar leak and trailer analysis, suggests yachts in GTA VI may finally be drivable โ addressing the long-standing complaint that the Galaxy was an immovable trophy โ and may serve as mobile bases of operations during Online play, akin to the Kosatka submarine (Fandom, 2026). Whether retained as a Galaxy-line successor or rebranded for the Vice City aesthetic (art-deco lines, neon underlighting), the yacht's reappearance would honour the series' tradition of letting players literally live on top of their crimes.
The Galaxy Super Yacht is one of GTA Online's most iconic and divisive properties โ a US$10 million floating apartment that defined an era of escalating luxury content. With GTA VI returning to Vice City and Leonida's tropical waters, the conditions are ideal for the yacht's return in a form that retains its decadent symbolism while finally delivering the interactivity players have requested for a decade.
