Raul Bautista is one of the supporting characters formally introduced to the public alongside the second official trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI, released by Rockstar Games on 6 May 2025 (Rockstar Games, 2025a). Described on the game's promotional website as a "seasoned bank robber" defined by "confidence, charm, and cunning", Raul represents a classic Rockstar archetype: the older, smooth-talking criminal mentor whose recklessness threatens the very crew he leads (Rockstar Games, 2025a). His on-screen presence in Trailer 2 is brief but conspicuous, and the accompanying website update with seventy promotional screenshots provided a much fuller visual record of the character than the trailer alone (Robinson, 2025; GTA Wiki, 2025).
This report focuses specifically on Raul's Trailer 2 appearances โ both his moving-image footage in the trailer itself and the still-image screenshots Rockstar released simultaneously โ examining what was shown, how it was framed, and what it implies for his role in the final game.
Rockstar's second trailer, set to a soundtrack including The Pointer Sisters' "Hot Together", Wang Chung's "Everybody Have Fun Tonight" and Tammy Wynette's "Talkin' to Myself Again", runs slightly over three minutes and packs in dozens of characters across rapid-cut sequences (Wikipedia, 2026; Rockstar Games, 2025b). Within that whirlwind, Raul's appearances are limited to a handful of shots totalling only a few seconds of cumulative screen time, but each shot is visually distinctive enough to have been catalogued immediately by fan communities and the GTA Wiki (GTA Wiki, 2025).
Raul is most clearly identifiable in trailer cuts depicting bank-robbery and heist preparation. He appears wearing a sharp suit during what looks like an interior crew briefing, and is also shown in a tactical configuration consistent with a robbery in progress โ bearing what the GTA Wiki catalogues as an "Unnamed GTA VI Capo pistol" and an "Unnamed GTA VI Duke special ops carbine" among his on-trailer armaments (GTA Wiki, 2025). His grey hair, full beard and tanned complexion mark him out from the younger members of Lucia and Jason's circle, reinforcing the "experienced operator" reading reinforced by Rockstar's own pull-quote: "Experience counts" (Rockstar Games, 2025a).
The Wikipedia summary of the second trailer's character reveals confirms Raul as one of the supporting cast named for the first time on 6 May 2025, alongside Cal Hampton, Boobie Ike, Dre'Quan Priest, Real Dimez and Brian Heder (Wikipedia, 2026). Raul is consistently the only character in this group framed primarily through the lens of armed robbery rather than business, music or domestic-criminal life โ a tonal placement that signals the heist-centric portion of the story.
Far more revealing than Raul's seconds-long trailer footage is the bank of official screenshots Rockstar published on the game's website on the same day the trailer dropped (Robinson, 2025). GTA Wiki has documented four discrete promotional stills officially associated with Raul, filed under "OfficialScreenshots-GTAVI-PromotionalWebsite-RaulBautista-SS1" through "SS4", plus a dedicated character portrait and a piece of stylised key artwork (GTA Wiki, 2025).
Across these screenshots, Raul is depicted in several distinct contexts: in a tailored jacket appearing relaxed and in command, in a tactical pose with firearm raised that strongly implies an active heist scene, and in social settings that emphasise the "charm" half of Rockstar's character description. The portrait image, filed as "RaulBautista-GTAVI-Portrait", became the de facto reference image used by news outlets covering the trailer (GTA Wiki, 2025). The Rockstar website's own scrolling character section pairs Raul with the location tag "Explore Ambrosia", visually anchoring him to that region of Leonida โ a strong narrative hint that bank-robbery missions involving Raul will be staged in or routed through Ambrosia (Rockstar Games, 2025a).
The website copy attached to Raul's section also surfaces a key line of in-game dialogue โ "Life is full of surprises, my friend. I think we'd all be wise to remember that" โ together with the tagline "A professional adapts. Raul's recklessness raises the stakes with every score. Sooner or later, his crew will have to double down or pull their chips from the table" (Rockstar Games, 2025a). This framing, combined with the visual material, positions Raul as both ally and liability: a mentor figure whose escalating risk profile is being explicitly telegraphed before the game even launches.
Although Raul's literal screen time in Trailer 2 is among the smallest of the named characters revealed on 6 May 2025, the volume and quality of accompanying still imagery made him one of the more visually defined supporting characters in the marketing rollout (Robinson, 2025; GTA Wiki, 2025). For a trailer that drew over 475 million cross-platform views within twenty-four hours and broke Deadpool & Wolverine's prior video-launch record, even a few seconds of footage represents enormous reach (Wikipedia, 2026). Raul's screenshots have already been widely re-circulated in coverage, fan analyses and wiki documentation, ensuring his place in pre-release public consciousness despite limited trailer real estate.
